| The handover of Kingsthorpe Meadows |
A PROMISE KEPT
TO THE COMMUNITY Jan 5th 2010 This was the scene when an important promise was kept to the community in Kingsthorpe just
before Christmas. It was the handover of 14 acres of land at Kingsthorpe Meadows sold to the NN2 Residents Association
by the Choudhury family. The deal was negotiated by Sally Keeble after the controversial land sale of the site in 2008.
Residents voted at a meeting in Spinney Hill Theatre to use community funds raised by NN2 Residents Association to buy the
site as a community park. Now rest of Kingsthorpe Meadows will also be put to a community use. And the proceeds of the
sale will be used by the Choudhury family to develop the former Mill Wheel pub in Billing Brook Road as a community centre. In the picture Sally Keeble MP, with Martin Jones of NN2 Residents and the Choudhury family.

SALLY KEEBLE MP JOINS CLIMATE CHANGE MARCH December 5th 2009 Sally Keeble MP joined Northampton's climate change marchers in London to press for progress
at the Copenhagen summit. Shown here with Frank Sudlow, joint chair of the Northampton Climate Change Forum she walked
with the marchers to surround Parliament. "Climate change is the big challenge of our times, we need a settlement
that will protect our planet," she said. "Congratulations to Frank, Cafod, Fairtrade and the campaigners from
Northampton who marched to stop climate chaos."
PUBLIC BACK CRACKDOWN ON CUT-PRICE ALCOHOL Sally's consultation
on alcohol sales found public support for a crackdown on cut-price alcohol in pubs, clubs and shops. About two thirds
of the people who took part in the on-line survey supported an end to happy hours and wanted controls on cut-price alcohol
promotions in shops. The report has been sent to the Home Office
to feed into the Government's consulation on the mandatory code on alcohol sales.
Sally Keeble wants to hear what's happening to
young people in Northampton July 3rd 2009 Sally wants to hear from young people who are leaving school or university in Northampton this summer. She's setting up a research project to ask them about their experiences as they look for jobs
or move into university, college or training. She'll use the findings
to press the Government for more support for young people in the autumn. It's
expected that things will be tough for young people this summer due to the credit crunch. So if you're from Northampton and you're leaving school, college or university this summer, use the
link below to get in touch with Sally and give her your contact details.

SALLY KEEBLE PRESSES GOVERNMENT OVER HELP FOR HOMEOWNERS
March 5th
Sally Keeble has pressed the Government to extend help for more homeowners who have run into trouble as
a result of the recession.
At present help to pay interest on mortgages is available for people who have been out of work for 13 weeks.
But it's only available for people on income-based Job Seekers Allowance. Many people who are out of work are on contribution
based JSA.
Sally Has asked for it to be linked to the tax credit system to help more families.
