"Labour is about making sure people get the best in life - and that's my goal for people in Northampton North" Sally Keeble
I work on the things that matter most to local people – family finances, housing and community issues. I campaign locally and nationally with local groups and communities – no issue is too big or too small.
At present I’m campaigning especially on the crisis in our local government here in Northampton: taking a countywide lobby to Parliament to press MPs for a better deal for Northamptonshire people, and also taking action locally over the planned cuts to services for children with disabilities.
I bring to my work for you wide experience in every area of life: working in the private sector, local government, the NHS. And during my years as your MP I served as a government minister as well as dealing with a huge number of constituency cases and actively supporting many local groups and campaigns. As the patron of a local housing charity, and trustee of a community café, I appreciate the crucial role that charities play – especially during the hard times caused by Tory austerity. I’ve worked abroad in international development and value the contribution that all Northampton’s diverse communities make to the life of our town.
Originally a journalist, I’m married with a daughter and son who recently completed their university studies. My husband Andrew and I have made our home on the east side of the constituency.
